Alex Vinash debuts 2019 resort collection

A wave of bright, bold fashion graced the makeshift runway at the Greenport American Legion Sunday to benefit Community Action Southold Town. Fashion designer Alex Vinash debuted his Resort Collection 2019 at the “Flower Power” Runway Show to a large crowd of fashion-minded onlookers.

This is the consecutive second year the Argentinian-born designer, who operates a clothing boutique at American Beech in Stirling Square, showcased his resort collection at the American Legion to support the ongoing efforts of CAST, which works to help low-income residents meet their basic needs in the areas of nutrition, employment, energy and education.

“We’re excited to partner with Alex Vinash for the Flower Power fashion show,” CAST director Cathy Demeroto told the audience before the models took the stage. “It’s great that we can bring fashion, fun, and philanthropy together to benefit our North Fork neighbors in need.”

Six large scale paintings by artist Anne Sherwood Pundyk on unstretched canvas glowed above the runway suspended from scaffolding towers.
